The day was just dawning,
The sky, rather hazy.
Couldn’t help yawning,
It was still early and I, lazy.
It wasn’t yet light,
When I saw a vague shadow.
It gave me a fright,
Sitting by the weeping willow.
My heart was thumping loudly,
Had trouble breathing.
I was being cowardly,
But this chance I wasn’t taking.
I jumped straight into bed,
Tried to clear my mind,
With the covers over my head,
Prayed this, I can no longer find.
