Joseph Lubin, co-founder of Etherea, expects the global economy to be about 10 times larger in 10-20 years if mass adoption of blockchain takes place. Moreover, he added that this technology will be involved in most economies.
During the same speech, Lubin also pointed out that, as at present, there are not many "normal" people using blockchaine-based systems, in 1983 there were not many "normal" people who wrote emails.
He also repeated the promises that relate to Etherea 2.0. He said that in Bitcoine and in the current version of Etherea there is a lot of inefficiency that Ethereum 2.0 will no longer have:
“At Bitcoin and Ethereum you need to have specialized hardware, burn a lot of electricity, waste a lot of calculations and keep them synchronized. [With Ethereum 2.0, in 18 months] we'll have a blockchain much more powerful and scalable that uses less energy. ”
The interviewer from the New York Times said that thanks to blockchain, society will go "from scarcity to abundance."
conclusion
Certainly such ideas will warm up, but we will see how the Ethereum 2.0 project will look like. We will wait for real outputs. It is not just to believe that they will be so great.
