Aunque esta popular frase se atribuye a John Lennon (1940 - 1980), no fue él quien la creó, más bien la popularizaría en los años 60's del siglo pasado. Sería Gershon Legma (1917 - 1999, fuente Wikipedia) en 1965 quien usaría por primera vez la frase antibélica por primera vez.

  Y es que en aquellos tiempos se vivía la guerra de Vietnam despertando tantos sentimientos en contra por la tremenda cantidad de bajas, los nulos resultados y no tener sentido para el país (más allá de los intereses particulares de los políticos).

Básicamente esta frase nos invita a buscar la paz sobretodo para no tener que llegar a la guerra.
