For The Birds is an original series of pixel art featuring birds of the world.
Proceeds are donated to the World Land Trust, an organization that protects rainforest around the world. 140GBP has been donated already!

For The Birds is growing. Nesting is a katamari type game in development that leverages blockchain tech for authorization and world building. Roll up stuff to make the biggest nest you can.

Changes

• Fixed a bug that blocked the screen if player had only 1 bird.
• Nesting now has a high score database. For the privacy concerned it records only the bird name, your public wax address, your high score, and the day. No other data is collected.
• Leaderboards are up. On the pause screen and when you complete the level, the top 3 scores for that bird are displayed. More high scores are shown on the game website. https://forthebirds.space/
• Weights of in-game things are still being balanced. Some improvements have been made, but there is still a lot more smoothing out to do.
• Temporarily removed single quote character from bird names to avoid mysql errors.
• A couple new things for rolling up!

Next

• The UI needs a little makeup. Improving the general look and feel of the menus, text, and other display elements.
• Anti-cheating. There are a handful of quick checks I need to put in place to make cheating much harder.
• More bug fixes
• More objects!

NFTS

• The bird NFTs are keys to play. If you don't own any birds, the game wont load. No worries though currently you can buy birds from the official drops for as low as 3 WAX. On the market you can find some even cheaper.
• The Species (template id) is used as a level seed. Each bird species gets a different level. Currently differences are minor, but will become more dramatic as development continues. By using the same bird, you can still have fair competition for leaderboards, etc..
• The conservation status controls play time. Rarer birds can play longer, allowing you to get bigger during the game and roll up even more stuff.
