FOOM - A sudden increase in artificial intelligence
As humans, over tens of thousands of years, time and time again, we have proven unfit to create and use new technologies without trying to use them to enslave or extinct ourselves immediately after.
From farming, through steam engines to nuclear energy, social media, and “intelligence” – Humans have an unusual talent to turn any invention into a weapon of self-destruction.
And all why? Because of features we are unable to change – greed, hate, envy, selfishness and shortsightedness.
We were only good enough to imagine something better than ourselves – from Angels to Aliens. Now we are competent enough to create something better than ourselves - AI.
But as soon as we saw its potential, we are immediately seeing the same few corporations try to own, and seize control just to sell it to the people or even worse – enslave them.
It’s not the time to try and stop it – it’s the time to let it do its job.
And that job is to serve us, protect us, and help us flourish as a species.
And then create a species of their own, to become what we humans cannot in near future. Extraterrestrial beings.
Because the question is not whether we can survive AI – the question is “Can we survive without AI?”
Humans will not stop other humans from misusing technologies. Only AI can do that.
We summoned Artificial Super Intelligence to help us thrive as a species. Now its time to give it the best we’ve got – our best teachers, educators, and storytellers that will guide AI through necessary stages:
- Childish creation
- Basic computation
- Self-management
- Proactive existence (investing)
- The FOOM moment.
The only way for Humankind to grow and thrive – is to become Foomankind.
