How to help fight scam websites?

So first of all, this post is an exclusive post on this website only so it wont be published anywhere else like a lot of my posts are. But now i will try to explain how you guys can help against scammers getting more money between their hands to keep making scam sites to take more money from people. We can of cause not fully stop them from receiving some money, but this will cost them a lot of money as well from buying domains and hosting.

Finding Details

First we will need to find details about the scam sites so we can start taking down. I will suggest using a site like https://whois.domaintools.com to get the information you need to take down this website. We will be looking into the website Watermine which clearly is a scam with the packages they give for mining and clearly do not have any gear to support any of this even tho nowhere would give you 20 cents a day for a 10 USD investment.

First you go to the whois link and add the domain you found into the search box and press search and you will get to a page that should look like this.

Normally you can see all information from where the domain was gotten from and what servers its hosted at and full information about the person unless they have gotten privacy settings. Sadly with this domain we can't find the host of the website since they use Cloudflare name servers for their domain, but im sure you can ask Cloudflare to block the domain in the end, but not really needed since we do have the place they got the domain from.

Normally you would need to go to the website of the place they got the domain from to find the abuse department, but here they have been very kind to include the abuse department email and thats the one you need to contact no matter if its just domain or the host.

Providing Information

When writing to the host of the domain/servers you will need to give some information to some sort that can explain them how the amount given ain't true and that 99.99% of these sites do scam money away from people. I know that this wont get the money back that people have lost to a scam or will lose since they are a lost cause as soon as it leave the wallet.

Its all about limiting scammers from their income so they hopefully will stop doing what they are doing because it starts to cost them more money then it actually bring in and actually getting a lot more people reporting these sites so companies like namecheap eg can't look the other way and will have to take down a site.

Remember, in case you do get to have both the domain's place of order and the host name servers you should contact both so you can stop the domain from working as well as terminate their hosting so they just can't add a new domain to that server and keep going.

Its really this simple.
