"Get ready to blow your mouth's mind."
As written on the box, Ice Cream Mochi did in fact surprise me in its taste.
My mind was blown. This was like nothing I've ever had before.
You probably know the beloved commonly-eaten dessert-occasionally-turned-binge-eating snack food that is Ice Cream.
You probably eat it regularly, unless you’re lactose-intolerant, which, if you are, welcome to the club! ( I only eat it occasionally (: )
As someone who occasionally eats and enjoys ice cream, you can imagine my surprise when I saw a box of Mochi Ice Cream parallel to my line of vision on the shelf in the store. In the end, we bought it, and hours later, I am typing this blog post.
I first tried this Mochi Ice Cream in my very own kitchen, leaning above the stove, with my sister. She definitely wasn’t fond of it, but I personally enjoyed it. It was something new, and new in a good way as well.
On the outside, it reminded me of a dumpling. White, plump, with good things inside.
On the inside, it was sweet, cold, and creamy.
The rice dough exterior, coming from someone who doesn’t like to bite cold foods such as ice cream, was stretchy and hard to tear apart. My sister, on the other hand, had an easy time dealing with it, since she normally bites ice cream anyway.
I definitely recommend this snack for a time when you’re outside in the heat. The Mochi is cold before you even take a bite into the rice dough and can be very refreshing.
However, the calories for this snack are quite high, so I suggest that you enjoy it in moderation.
I give this a solid 8/10.
I like it a lot.
The skin got in the way at times, but I would love to have this again.
The flavor I tried was Cookies and Cream.
There are also different flavors I can't wait to try, like Double Chocolate and Wild Strawberry.
That's all.
Happy Tasting! ♡
