In the last couple of weeks NBA Top Shot got a lot of attention in the Crypto and in the NBA community. It is like a trading card game but with digital video clips of NBA Highlights. In the following I will tell you what Badges are and how they could affect the marketplace.

Types of badges

There are currently five different types of badges. The first one is the "Rookie Year Badge". This one is given to Moments where the moment happened in the Rookie year of the player. It is irrelevant when the moment was minted for this badge.

The second badge is the "Rookie Premiere Badge". This badge is given to Moments that contain a clip of the first Regular Season Match-Up that the Rookie has ever played.

The next badge is the "Rookie Year Mint Badge". This badge is not too special as it only specifies that the moment was minted at some point during the player's rookie year.

Badge number four is the "Three-Star-Rookie Badge". This is like the ultimate badge because it indicates that the Moment got every single one of the above-mentioned badges. The Moment still got every single one of these badges, but since it is very rare the Three-Star-Rookie badge is used to indicate a very special moment.

And at last we got the "TopShot Debut Badge". Currently, this badge is not rare at all, but it will probably become more rare over the time, and it could be interesting in terms of long-term investments. The badge indicates that the Moment is the first ever NBA TopShot Moment for the Player. Right now this is about 53% of the moments, which is quite a lot.
