I've seen this a number of times with different ads. They all have "< /ad" at the end of the ad text.
Do you guys just like the way it looks or is someone just not paying attention? Personally, it makes it look like someone is careless. Allowing partial code bits like that to be printed detracts from your website image and lowers my trust level.
