I recently talked about how to transfer your ETH from Optimism (OP) to other blockchains, and one of the best destinations right now is Cronos zkEVM, the zkEVM (zero-knowledge proof Ethereum Virtual Machine compatible) blockchain of Crypto.com.
If you want to see exactly how to proceed, watch my video below 👇 for a visual walkthrough!
Why Move ETH to Cronos zkEVM?
Cronos zkEVM is gaining serious traction lately—thanks to a major partnership between Trump Media & Crypto.com (the team behind Cronos) and the agreement between Sony & Crypto.com to accept USDC payment via their app. This has pumped the CRO token, and while it might dip later, there are big earning opportunities in the meantime.
Instead of risky perpetual trading, I prefer semi-shorting:
-
Borrow CRO
-
Swap half for stablecoins (USDC or vUSD) or ETH
-
Provide liquidity & earn high yields while waiting for a potential drop.
Step 1: Bridge to Cronos zkEVM
The fastest & cheapest bridge I use is deBridge (referral link).
✅ Example: Bridging 0.01 ETH from Optimism → USDC on Cronos zkEVM gives you ~$19 (great rates!).
🔗 Alternative: Symbiosis (but deBridge is often better).
Step 2: Lend & Borrow on Cronos zkEVM
Once bridged, head to Amply Finance (a lending protocol):
-
Deposit USDC as collateral.
-
Borrow zkCRO (Cronos zkEVM's version of CRO).
⚠️ Warning: Always manage your collateral ratio to avoid liquidation!
Step 3: Earn High Yields with Liquidity Pools
Now, take your borrowed zkCRO, swap half for ETH or vUSD, and provide liquidity on H2 Finance:
-
95% APY Pool (zkCRO/ETH) – High rewards but higher impermanent loss risk.
-
20% APY Pool (zkCRO/vUSD) – More stable, less risk.
💰 Pro Tip: Stake LP tokens for extra H2 rewards (H2 Finance's native token).
Final Thoughts
Cronos zkEVM is booming, and with the right strategy, you can earn passive income while positioning for a potential $CRO dip.
