Do your greasy palms start sweating at the mere mention of minuscule gas fees? Thoughts of truly owning your tokens and storing them directly in your wallet sending shivers up your spine? Want to get in on some of the explosive new collections coming out of the Elrond Network but years of discord has whittled your attention span down to a nub and you wish someone would just tell you exactly what to do?

With gas fees out of control on Ethereum, smart contract exploits snatching NFTs and other assets, the oddity of not actually being in direct control of your own tokens, being able to see them right in your wallet, touch them, bathe in all of their glory... it's no wonder bustling NFT ecosystems are cropping up on many L1 blockchains, and Elrond is no exception. With a vibrant community teeming with creativity and innovation, Elrond offers the chance to get in on the ground floor on many an exciting & upcoming NFT project... and people are taking notice.

Maybe you are hearing about Apes, Gnogons, Drifters, Ducks, and a whole slew of other phenomenal projects being built on Elrond or, you simply want to diversify your portfolio across multiple blockchains and have noticed the fire being lit under the  Elrond ecosystem, and now you would like to know exactly where to go and what to do once you get there to take advantage of it all.

Hi friend. Allow me to take you on a brief tour of the Elrond NFT space so you can get your white list snagging floor sweeping butt in gear.

There are a number of marketplaces popping up all over the Elrond space. The Elrond NFT community is only a few months old and at the time of this writing there are already 5 marketplaces available and 4 more on the way with the ones online right now looking to update, and upgrade rapidly. Elrond NFTs are very very young and they are growing like a weed, at rapid pace.

Here is a quick and dirty rundown of what's available right now :

  • eMoon.space was the first and up until recently most volume marketplace by far. They are currently working towards launching their V2. eMoonSpace on Twitter.

  • DeadRare.io hosts a number of larger projects and has rarity tools to help you discern rank. DeadRareNFT on Twitter.

  • Isengard.Market is a newer marketplace with a lot of promise. Many smaller projects and independent artists mint here. IsengardMarket on Twitter.

  • Trust.market is another market that helps smaller artists utilize a smart contract mint. They have a wide range of projects and include rarity tools, nice filters, and the ability to exchange with other assets like LKMEX. TrustMarketNFT on Twitter.

  • Frameit.GG is the newest of the marketplaces currently available at the time of this writing. They offer no listing fee, low selling fee and auction functionality. They seek to provide "The handiest marketplace on Elrond." FrameitGG on Twitter.

Upcoming marketplaces to keep an eye on:

  • erdNFT started as a simple viewing tool and is now building a full fledged marketplace. Check back often to see what they are offering for free gifts. Not yet ready for prime time but they have some nice giveaways from time to time. erdnft_ on Twitter.

  • YouBei seeks to become a community owned marketplace that will reward every participant involved in the market from devs to users to creators to collectors alike. It is being built by the ENFT project who acquired ErdSea, a promising project that had shuttered itself before it could get momentum.

  • Maiar NFT Marketplace. This is a marketplace being developed by the Elrond team themselves and it seems like it will integrate not only with the Maiar Exchange but perhaps the Maiar Wallet directly as well. We don't know much about how this will shape up yet.

  • eFluffies is an NFT project that are developing their own marketplace and will be implementing an aggregator that will produce price information across all markets. More on their statements about that here.

Now that you know the WHERE, let's talk about the HOW

For the most Metamask like experience, the Maiar DeFi wallet is a browser extension wallet that you can use with Chrome. The link I provided is to the official Elrond blog about it so that you can link from there and be assured you are getting the official release from Elrond. This wallet is extremely easy to use and provides a smooth process for purchasing NFTs from the marketplaces.

You can create a new wallet in this app or import one that you have already made.

You will create a password and after that it's simply a matter of logging in to use any dapp that offers a connection.

After logging in you can connect to any dapp by clicking on Maiar Extension:

This will bring up the extension and ask you to select which wallet you would like to use:

Click on the appropriate wallet.

Then, once you find an NFT you would like to buy, clicking the buy button will bring up a confirmation screen on the browser extension.

This confirm button may be hidden below the cutoff and you can extend the window by clicking and dragging down on the bottom if you need to. Once you click confirm, be sure to stay on the window until the transaction is complete. The browser may cancel it as a safety feature if you click away to another tab.

Once it settles you will see a success screen and then can check your wallet to see the NFT.

Another, option is the Maiar Wallet app which offers an intuitive user interface and clean experience and the ability to purchase EGLD right in the app. This app can also store other crypto currencies; right now supporting Ethereum, BNB (BEP2 not BEP20), Bitcoin, and USDC. (Note the USDC here is wUSDC, wrapped as an ESDT (Elrond Standard Digital Token) and thus will NOT accept your ERC20 USDC and will result in loss of funds. In order to Bridge your USDC over to Elrond in order to use it for dapps such as the Maiar Exchange, you will need to use the bridge.)

This is available on iOS and Android and will allow you to connect on the go or at your PC by scanning a QR code. The Maiar wallet can be found here and if you want, you can use my referral code: txs89adg0p to get $10 in free $EGLD.

Connecting the Maiar Wallet to dapps is simple. Click on Maiar App and you will have a QR code pop up. If you are on mobile  then an additional button will be appear that will allow you to switch apps.

For using it on a PC browser (recommended), you will open the menu with the central button and then select Wallet Connect.

This will then bring up the QR reader. Scan and you will be prompted to approve the connection. The rest of the process is as above except that now when you are setting up a transaction on the dapp, the approval will pop up on your device.

I am looking forward to the future development of this app and this ecosystem as a whole. This is pure speculation on my part but I have seen the way they have integrated NFTs right into the Maiar App and with a marketplace coming from the developers right around the corner it seems likely that we will see functionality for this built right into the Maiar Wallet.

If you are using the Maiar mobile app and would like to look at your NFTs directly, the menu is hidden in your profile:

e0856d8aeea5c929fd49ab3afbf17220849256eec61691a5dcb3d497db218730.png

This will open up your entire list and you can then tap any one of them and get the details and history, and even send right from the app.

Another way to get a quick glance at all of your NFTs is to use a website like Whattomint created by the Elrond Ducks.

f2f3ea671dbb39a7e019728b8e4da9a0912f70ef0d210deee457a03f23235e0a.png

As you can see with these Gnogons from the Gnogen project, it scanned my wallet and laid out all of my tokens with their images, collection IDs, and metadata all in one convenient place.

So now that you know where to buy and how to buy, perhaps you would like some help knowing what to buy. When you're out there scanning the marketplaces looking for those sweet sweet deals there are a handful of convenient tools available to you to check on the potential value of those tokens you are perusing.

Both DeadRare and Trust markets offer rarity tools. Trust has it right on their site and Deadrare is a little bit harder to track down at a different URL ElrondIndex.io. The tools offered by these two sites are not the most accurate when it comes to certain collections however. The Elrond Ducks have their own site called whattomint.io that offers a rarity index for their core project and a collection of other tools such as a wallet viewer. Rarity Sniper is where you will find the official rarity scores for Gnogons, as Gnogen has worked with them closely to make it the most accurate index for this collection. Gnogen is the first to set up with Rarity Sniper and I expect more to follow very soon.

Another promising tool is walletfp.com which scans both eMoon and Deadrare for floor prices and does a simple calculation of the minimum value of your NFT portfolio. This one is just in the beginning stages of development and has recently added rarity scores for some collections right in the output, potentially making it a one stop shop for all of your data needs if they keep going. Bridge

The last tidbit I have for you here is the ability to store your NFTs from any Network you're on to any other. Thought it might be nice to bridge your NFTs to Elrond or more than a dozen other Networks? There is a multi-chain bridge developed by the XP Network bringing the promise of interoperability to reality.
