In one corner, we have the king of coins: Bitcoin. In the other, a newcomer in the form of Electroneum. Both are virtuous and flawed in their own right. Which is better? That is for you to decide.
Bitcoin, The Epitome of Popular
Dubbed digital gold, Bitcoin is the original crypto currency. It is well known in crypto circles and the only coin known by strangers to the crytocurrency world.
This popularity is a strength I consider underated. I do not see a future where Bitcoin will be easily overtaken. It is in it's 10th year of growth as a decentralized giant unlike Electroneum that only touts 2 years of existence. The network is tried and tested. This popularity, longevity, and overall brand pack a punch that Electroneum will have a hard time replicating.

Electroneum, Ushering in Crypto Instant Payments
One thing Electroneum does better than Bitcoin is instant payments. Sure, in it's current form, it is more like instant notifications. When you send someone ETN you recieve a notification that it was sent to you instantly but the funds arrive a few minutes later. The funds can not be used by either party in that time.
Very soon the team will rollout full instant payments. This will take peer to peer transactions to the next level. Sending ETN will be like handing someone cash. They can use the funds instantly.
This feature currently trumps the lightning network in my opinion because it is quite simple to complete Electroneum's 60 second onboarding process. Even the least tecnically inclined can follow and complete the simple steps.
Sending ETN will be like handing someone cash.
Who do you think won the round? Bitcoin? Electroneum? Both? Neither? Let me know what you think in the comments and watch out for the next installment of Crypto Cagematch.
