VERO PEACE

POEM:

Lights and shadows, works of mercy, cure of souls,
We don't get much to care for, life takes its tolls,
But your love's greater than death, I eat your pain,
Partake I stake with those shaken from slumber's chain.

Tales of old wake them up, I almost sing,
A spell I haven't forgot, time's lost wing.
Come withstand my test, lay me down to rest,
Or will your whole heart answer my request?

Will fear creep in your ears, a whispered threat?
Or my ghosts haunt till your eyes are tear-wet?
For I don't know what's near, my dear, it's true,
Grim Reaper, dragons, demigods in view.

Sages and creatures of all ages rise,
Cool my heart's rage, warm life's stages likewise.
Mirror, mirror on my wall that's broken,
Who'll pass the greatest test, by fear unshoken?

Beware yourself, the challenge to surpass,
Face your own reflection in shattered glass.
