DAUGHTER

Nobody will remember you or you them, that is death.

When the reaper comes, and your last breath is drawn,
Your body will wither, your essence be gone.
The world will keep turning, the sun will still rise,
But your name will fade, like a distant, lost sigh.

Nobody will remember the sound of your voice,
The way that you laughed, the paths left unchoiced.
Your face will be a blur, in the minds of your friends,
As time marches on, and new lives begin.

The mark that you made, on this cold, hard earth,
Will slowly erode, like a stone in the surf.
Your achievements, your failures, your loves and your fears,
Will all be forgotten, as the world disappears.

The people you knew, the lives that you touched,
Will vanish like smoke, their memories crushed.
They'll slip from this earth, one by one, day by day,
Until no one is left, to remember your way.

And you'll be a ghost, in a world full of ghosts,
A whisper of dust, on the wind's lonely coast.
No one to mourn you, to speak of your name,
As the universe swallows your fading remains.

For death is the great equalizer, you see,
It strips us of all, our agony & identity.
It renders us equal, in the void's dark face,
As we fade unto nothing, without even a trace.

So cling to your life, while you still have breath,
For the clock's always ticking, towards your own death.
And know that one day, when your time is through,
You'll be lost to the ages, like all others too.

And then the reaper said,
you can't escape destiny.
And then daughter said, Fuck fate,
I want to be like the things I wont forsake.

But don't let that thought, fill your heart with despair, you grim,
For the beauty of life, is in the memories we share within.
So I live on with passion, with fire and with zest,
And make every moment, our life's truest test.

For though I will be forgotten, in the end, it's true,
The love that I gave, will live on, with me and you.
In the hearts of the ones, whose lives you made night,
Their spirit will shine, like stars through your blight.

Love Always Wins Over Death.
