Aizu Chujo

The company was founded in 1794. The company was founded in 1794 by the Eitoharaya family, who served as the president of the Aizu clan, and the head of the family took the name Heihachiro from generation to generation. In 1977, the company announced "Aizu Lieutenant General" in honor of Masayuki Hoshina (younger brother of Tokugawa Iemitsu), the founder of the clan. Using a traditional tank for pressing, the sake is brewed with careful attention to detail using traditional methods, and is a typical Aizu sake with a gentle flavor of rice that is perfect for drinking cold or warm. It won a gold medal in the Junmai Daiginjo category at the SAKE COMPETITION 2015. Made from 100% Yamada Nishiki, the aroma and mellowness in the mouth is very elegant. I also recommend the standard Junmai sake.
