119 : My two little neighbors part 2

That afternoon, my little neighbors showed me all of them. It was incredible to see how they knew by heart each and every one of the written texts that they had reviewed and read so many times.

Sharing these kinds of experiences with older people helps you see life in a different way. The sacrifice that many of our elders have made for their children and their families is real and very few value it. I saw it reflected in Neli and Antón. When she served me my red tea in a white porcelain cup, Neli told me that last Christmas Alberto couldn't be with them and that made them miss him more and more. My heart sank. I answered that I was sure that Alberto also felt sorry for not being able to be with them but that they had to be patient. Sometimes life can be so unfair without us deserving it.
Once we finished, between stories and more stories, we cleaned up and I said goodbye to them. I promised them I would come back soon to repeat the evening. They thanked me and I headed home with a big smile.
