Last summer, I had the opportunity to travel to Puglia, a region in the southeast of Italy. In particular I stayed in the city of Barletta.

It is a big town on the Adriatic coast, ...

... but it also has a long history with many places to visit and many roads and streets where it is possible to take long walks.

In the old town there are areas with narrow and suggestive streets.

Old buildings, churches, and monuments made mainly of light-coloured rock slabs.

The streets are paved with rock slabs, too.

Some alleys can serve as a shortcut, as long as you know where they lead.
