I'm Back! (for now) and here to introduce you to a new Play 2 earn (P2E) game called Idle Mystic.
If you've played and love Axie infinity you'll love this game too. It has a huge number of similarities. Breeding, earning, governance token (upcoming), PVP and PVE content, scholarships and much more!

Lets explain how this game works. This game is available for IOS, Android and Windows.
Creating an account -
1.Go here to IdleMystics.io (Referral link. I'll elaborate later) and create an account. You will need a Matic wallet and a way to sign in with it. I used Metamask. If you don't have Metamask here is a quick video here.
2. Link an email to the account on the account page.
4. Purchase at least 3 hero's from the marketplace. Any less than 3 and you won't be able to play.
Once you've done this you can start the app and start playing.
Heros
Although the appearance and skills of Idle Hero's hero's appear different they are much like Axies from Axie Infinity. They have 4 skill cards, they have stats Like Morale, health, skill and speed that affect there fighting ability. They even have an inheritance system that is like the Axie breeding system. You can use the MST/Magic stone (shown above) to breed two hero's together and the inheritors can have traits like their parents. It doesn't stop here, Legendary traits are very similar to Mystic traits which come from Origin packs. You can breed up to a max of 7 times. (so many similarities to Axie infinity).
I'm not the best strategist but I've noticed hero's with 3 or 4 damage cards and high speed are very effective. Additionally if you decide to create a 6 hero team, it's a good idea to put the tank fellers in front. You want a more elaborate strategy you'll have to develop one yourself. ;-)
Base cost for floor hero's at the time of this writing is $44.44 USD (payable in WETH on the Matic chain). While this works great for adventure and even the daily PVP battles. If you wish to participate in tournaments you will have to devise an effective strategy.
Based on current prices you are looking at 45ish days ROI on 3 hero's. However this was as low as 16 days previously and could go either way from here. Additionally the sale of hero's upon departure would be profit.
Gameplay
Game play varies from Axie infinity and as the title of the game suggests. It's mostly automated.
You have (this may change) 3 challenges to do in a day. 1 is fight 10/10 PVP battles and another is start 2 adventure within the given 24hr period. Additionally you have a tournament which last a couple weeks+.
Adventure is really simple. You create your team's formation and press start. This runs automatically even if the app is closed or idle, you come back 7hrs later and claim your 35 MST reward. Repeat 1 more time and claim 35 MST one more time.
Victory in PVP 10/10 is fairly simple too. You must win 10 fights and this process is automated or you can press the FFWD button and finish each battle immediately. 3 Hero teams may struggle a bit more in this area but a base 6 hero team should be able to complete this in a few minutes. once complete you can claim your 35 MST reward.
Your rewards are automatically claimed in game and deposited into your account at the end of that 24 period. You then wait an additional 24hrs to move them to your Matic wallet. There are some limits. Like 100 min and 1000 max per day. So while not exactly strict, you should plan accordingly.
Tournament is a little different, each fight is automated but you cannot fast FFWD or immediately finish a battle. Additionally these tournaments last days/weeks and rewards will vary and can even be paid out in the governance token IMT. (this token has a future planned release)
Daily check in rewards you with 2 IMT deposited directly into your account.
Referral rewards/Scholarships/Multi Accounts
You can refer others to join the game and be rewarded with inactive IMT. This token activates if the referral decided to purchase NFTs and play the game. Each referral is worth 10 IMT. Additionally there is 2 layers to this referral system.
You can create multiple wallets and link different email accounts to each. Then buy and create new teams. This process can be used to have multiple accounts (check TOS for more information) or find scholars who wish to play and you take a cut from their rewards. I suggest 70% them and 30% you.

Final thoughts
This game has a polished look and is copying on multi levels a very successful game (Axie infinity). I think it can capture some of the value Axie Infinity has and hope to see many people profiting from play 2 earn games. However I'm not 100% convinced that it's a sustainable model. Axie has breeding intensity due to high demand for effective strategy. This drives to a degree the demand for SLP to be used to breed and create new Axie. I'm not certain the Idle Hero's can create the same kind of demand and propel the game to the next level. However overall I do think it will enjoy some degree of success. I also enjoy the idea that you can play in a mostly idle/afk way and because of this I don't think it actually competes for attention away from Axie Infinity. You can easily do both and earn more!
While this may only equate to a few dollars a day in USD. This can be a lot for many around the world. Additionally those few dollars can add up and be reinvested elsewhere...or in time increase in value. Not financial advice and who knows the future but the potential is there for more.
A reminder that this game is indeed new and is being developed and added to as it grows. I expect some exciting things from it in the future.
