The final piece of creation might very well be the smart phone. It is the thing we are all magically attracted too, glued to like controlled zombies. If subscribe to the teleological worldview, in which all creation runs towards a final state, there is a last piece of creation the „Eschaton“, and then everything vanishes.
Is the smartphone the „Eschaton“? Maybe.
It scares me to notice, how the net and the devices gobble up all knowledge, emotion, our focus, our time and our attention. They give to every user its customized form of poison and they are payed in the most precious and scarce commodity there is:
Your time.
Your time is the most valuable commodity that You will ever possess. Therefore in my view it is extremely wise to store Your labour energy, which represents time spent working in a form of money, that is scarce too. And that of course is Bitcoin.
In the famous childrens book „Momo“ there are these gray smoking men, the time robbers. They steal the time of all the world. Had Michael Ende written the story today no doubt he would give the time robbers Smartphones in their hands.
It has gotten so bad, that our direct interactions get replaced with the virtual world, that our very existence is at risk. People dont talk anymore, they dont flirt or kiss anymore, they dont interact with the world anymore, they dont make babies anymore, and this is a problem.
Whatever comes next in this crazy world, it also has to include a serious shift in focus back into the 3D reality. There must be digital hygiene and time offline and off devices or else we all get mad and then disappear as a species. In that sad case our monument currently would be our nuclear waste dumps.
We have to do better than that. I cannot accept this status as it is.
You can do Yourself one hell of a favour if You now understand what You already possess. You are most likely richer than Warren Buffet, right now, if You are younger than him.
I bet You he would give You a good chunk of cash for Your Time, Your energy and Your Youth and call it a great deal. Warren would gladly trade money, which is replaceable, with time which is irreplaceable. You would end up with lots of cash in Your hand, in his old skin. A bad trade off no doubt.
With time you can always create money, but You cannot create time out of money.
When You are immersed in the virtual world You are missing the real thing, that which is and that which surrounds You that why You are here. You are trading the original for a copy. This is a bad deal. Memories and experiences are being made exclusively in life not online.
Because our time and attention is the scarcest commodity, it also is the most valuable commodity. This is the only reason why Google is so huge and so rich. Google trades the highest priced commodity, they understood this from the beginning and capitalized on it.
The more time You put into Your device the more the flatness of your earth increases. You change the lovely round globe for a shiny flat copy, that uses electricity, needs updates Your attention and spies on You.
You become a flat earther even though You might hate the fact.
