Today I went out for some shopping. The weather was beautiful sunshine and it was very quiet, like on a Sunday. This was the first time I had to pull a number to enter the grocery store and there were big gaps in the shelves.

It is obvious, that things have changed.

If You want to get the attention of the consumer, You just stop providing. This message hits home everywhere. Only the nutty preppers sitting in their bunker in the boonies are having a great time now being able to use all their gear.

Suddenly they dont seem so nutty anymore.

Yesterday a police patrol stopped a bunch of kids playing in my backyard, because they were too many in one place.

Let me summarize the situation here. We have arrived in a worldwide medical emergency, that closed most businesses, no public gatherings anymore, lots of bad news, many people locked in their home, emptying shelves in the store and a dow jones that keeps falling through the floor.

This is the big one, I am sure of it.

Soon there will be all kind of unusual activities going on around everywhere. This is such a eerie feeling that precedes this event. I would never have thought it to be this way. Although I expected a hiatus mainly from the economic side of things this situation now surpasses everything.

I did not consider, that the emergency is hitting everyone the same time, and that therefore everyone is in a state of emergency or anxiety of some sort. Everyone is to themselves, many alone by themselves.

I am glad to be surrounded by family and neighbours I love. The shift went towards local already in my world. I now invest my time and energy only locally, in my garden around my neighbourhood. And today I made a true analog investment, I planted potatoes.

No third party risk there.

So, even if the dow goes negative, come summer there will be potatoes. I know that my grandmother would be proud of this down to earth reality check bullet proof strategy.

And I will be sure to harvest seeds this year.
