The Maldives is an amazing place and I'm really enjoying my time here so far!!

We've spent the last 2 days on a local island called Maafushi, Maldives, and despite the horrific weather, I am overwhelmed by the over-the-top friendliness and hospitality of the Maldivian people.

Earlier tonight, our new friends from the Maldives surprised us with a romantic Maldivian dinner on the beach for my 27th birthday!

But if you're not from the Maldives (which makes up 99% of the people following this channel) -- then you probably have no idea what actually happens in this country other than seeing the perfect tropical beaches and scuba diving photos on Instagram.

Which is why I put together this video, to explain '5 things you didn't know about the Maldives!'
