Recently, Jack Mallers of Strike announced that Twitter was implementing a new tipping function, first on iOS and then on Android soon, that would purportedly run on the Lightning Network and allow anyone to send a user Bitcoin tips at no cost and with no third parties involved. This huge announcement seems a little too good to be true, and it kind of is, when you see just how little of an "integration" this is. Nontheless, this is a big step forward in the crypto economy, and the fact that it's a non-custodial solution means a whole lot for the direction of the space.
