In our 16th AMA, we have invited REVV’s product leader, Sean, to introduce to us the core concept of REVV and its parent company Animoca Brands on utilizing gamification, blockchain and artificial intelligence technology to develop and release a wide range of racing games and a series of mobile product portfolios. Sean Dudley is the product lead for REVV Motorsport, which includes F1 Delta Time, MotoGP Ignition, and Project Formula E. As well as overlooking a number of other blockchain initiatives at Animoca Brands. He has been working extensively in games for a long time with 15+ years of experience or so, and is genuinely excited about what blockchain can enable, and how it makes them rethink game design and building new game systems, economies and worlds.

# About REVV

Kiana: Please introduce yourself and your team to our audience first! 

Sean:  Hi All! I’m Sean, I’m the product lead for REVV Motorsport, which includes F1 Delta Time, MotoGP Ignition, and Project Formula E. As well as overlooking a number of our other blockchain initiatives at Animoca Brands.

I’ve been working in games for a long time, 15+ years or so, and genuinely excited about what blockchain can enable, and how it makes us rethink game design and building new game systems, economies and worlds. 

Kiana: Can you provide a brief introduction to REVV?

Sean:  REVV as a token connects the REVV Motorsport gaming ecosystem. This ecosystem is currently comprised of licensed motorsport games, but will also see a new, interoperable experience which brings car IPs, tracks, drivers, together in a rich racing gaming experience. While still leveraging the REVV token as the connection, with it’s utility being provided throughout. 

 

# REVV‘s Business Model and Future

Kiana: What was the motivation behind starting this project?

Sean: Animoca Brands in general is looking to the massive gaming audience that exists, and present a new way to play. Free-to-Play has become the standard gaming design, which requires players to either purchase virtual currencies and goods, or grind for the same content. These goods, regardless of value, remain closed within a proprietary ecosystem. Blockchain allows us to change this, it uses the same premises of content and currencies being somewhat independent, but then allows them to exist beyond the wall. This changes the value proposition of the content, but also, empowers players to control what they have earned at a greater level. 

With REVV Motorsport and the REVV Token, we’re taking these premises and making it a reality. As we add new titles to our economy, the wall crumbles, allowing players to take the content beyond where it was born. But even without that, this content can and does exist beyond these games. In the future it will allow us to empower creators alongside players, with Create-to-Earn and Play-to-Earn existing together. 

Kiana: In addition to the question above, could you introduce to us REVV’s incentive model, for example it’s maximum supply and ways to acquire it. Also if I hold REVV personally what other benefits could I enjoy?

Sean: REVV is a true utility token. The total supply is 3b, with it being unlocked from the reserve for new projects and initiatives. The tokens are introduced into the ecosystem through player rewards, and development initiatives. 

Holders should see that REVV is supported as the single means of access and purchase in the ecosystem. REVV being the only way to acquire licensed, premium, NFT content. As more games are added, as more content is added, the greater the utility and potential value of the REVV token itself. 

Kiana: Were there any major milestones for REVV this year?

Sean: Yes, REVV has been listed on many exchanges during this year. Also we launched the first pack sales for our second title, MotoGP™ Ignition and two sales for F1 Delta Time Event segments, these are NFTs that provide rewards to their owners whenever players race on them, with owners receiving rewards in REVV already. We have doubled our following on social media over the past few months. And recently saw a new record for a F1DT car, with the 3m REVV sale. 

Kiana: We’d love to know if there are any short-term, or long-term goals for this project.

Sean: Our short term goals are focused around building the gaming platform, continue to provide utility to REVV, and utility to content that we release. We are doing this with the games we have so far, and with the coming releases with Formula E, and updates with Ignition, and the upcoming REVV Motorsport gaming platform. 

The long term goal is the REVV Motorsport metaverse, where we pull in and connect the pillar experiences like MotoGP Ignition, F1 Delta Time, and both licensed and original content, creating a multi-IP, arcade-simulation experience, with Play-to-Earn tournaments, and UGC.

Kiana: What is your project’s business model?

Sean: REVV is a utility, and we look to provide utility for REVV through our game ecosystem. Primarily, we offer that utility through NFTs. For example, REVV is required to obtain NFTs in F1 Delta Time, and also needed to participate in any of the game modes. Soon, this will also be the case for MotoGP Ignition and for all REVV Motorsport titles, including the REVV Motorsport game itself. The more NFTs that exist within this metaverse and ecosystem, the create the utility and value of REVV, and all of the NFTs which exist within the wider platform.

Kiana: What do you think the development trends in the crypto assets realm will look like in 2021?

Sean: NFTs will start to really take shape, going beyond art, to more utility based assets. With the content being richer, and the tokens being granted greater utility. Play-to-Earn will continue to grow, and also new channels that will enable smaller creators, too. 

 

# Chit-chat

Kiana: I have a personal question, which is also the tradition of DigiFinex AMA. Can you share with us your personal investment portfolio in crypto assets?

Sean: I’m use and play our games, so there’s REVV I’ve bought, as well as the NFTs. I also went early on some other NFT titles, not going too deep, but I have CryptoKitties, I have some Gods Unchained Cards. For other tokens, layer-2 tokens are interesting. 

Kiana: What is your view on NFT’s future development and influence?

Sean: Deeds of ownership, contracts, similar legalese are obvious choices for tokenisation. But I’m definitely interested in how they can be used in games, as virtual goods and currencies already do work as a premise, and we’ve barely scratched the surface on how to build games around them. Also, there are ways that creators can benefit, too. Beyond the NFT art space, but take game modding communities, or in-game UGC support, there is a system which can ensure they can sell their creations. They can also be used to offer some of the positive aspects of traditional ownership, to media that has moved into the digital space, like with books. And reinvigorating a second-hand book market, or affordable books minus the cost of print. 

Kiana: The last question! Since establishing, REVV has been accomplishing great results, do you have ideas on developing new projects?  

Sean: Always, ideas are very rarely in short supply. But we have a bunch what we’re doing at Animoca Brands which I’m super excited to see them develop in the coming months.
