Thought: I don’t think that all students should be required to play sports because all of us have diverse interests and passions.
Reason: School should spark our interest in learning. If we all had to play a sport, then we would neither have the time nor the headspace to explore the things that appeal to us.
Example: I understand why some people believe that playing sports is helpful to get children to exercise. This is especially so when we are glued to our mobile devices and dislike working up a sweat. However, I think we should be given the choice to exercise at our own pace.
Experience: Right now, I am in the Science Club. It’s something that I enjoy because I like to complete the Young Scientist Badge tasks and broaden my knowledge. I also play football occasionally with my classmates during recess and before remedial classes. This gives me the best of both worlds as I nurture my interest in Science without compromising my fitness.
