A Saturday Morning

It was a scorching morning. The ground radiated intense heat from the sun, making me yearn for the air-conditioned comfort of a shopping mall. Still, I stuck to my plan, which was to accompany my daughter on a litter-picking activity organised by her preschool. To my delight, she picked up cigarette butts and plastic wrappers enthusiastically, sending a tinge of warmth that lit up my face. It was quality time well spent with the children—unencumbered by digital devices.
