If your portfolio comprises Ethereum, you might be interested to check out r/ethtrader on Reddit. It’s where Ethereum enthusiasts gather to share and discuss news related to ETH. And contrary to its name, you don’t need to be an active trader in order to benefit from this sub. Here are three reasons why I visit it regularly as part of my daily routine.

1) People tip you Donuts

Free crypto, anyone? Thought this might pique your curiosity since you post and tip the Publish0x authors for ETH and OP. Tipping is a strong culture in this sub, so if you create good content and build friendships with the users there, you can expect to be rewarded.

Here’s an example. I was recently given 100 Donuts, which was the in-house cryptocurrency.

So Donuts might be a shitcoin, but they are known enough to be listed on Coinbase. Right now, they are valued at $0.0052.

Well, 52 cents is quite lucrative for a single comment. And it’s not just about money. It’s always nice to see my work being appreciated.

2) People share airdrop farming tips

Ethereum and the L2s are a robust ecosystem, and if you do bridging to facilitate your DeFi ventures every so often, you would be eager to receive authentic insights from people farming for airdrops. They share their adventures regularly, highlighting the criteria you have to fulfill, the NFTs you can collect for extra points as well as potential pitfalls to avoid. 

In fact, the first comment I read when I visited the sub while writing this article was about keeping track of your airdrop progress.

They even update everyone on the gas fees, so you will know first hand the opportune time to settle your transactions! 

3) You get updated on the latest ETH developments

And you don’t have to spend 24/7 to catch all the postings. R/Ethtrader has a cool feature in which a comment nominated by three separate members will be highlighted in the Daily Discussion thread. This means that there is some form of quality checking in place - and users who post the hottest news will typically be recognised by other members. You can save time and energy by keeping a lookout for the comments surfaced by EthTrader_Reposter. Here’s an example:
