With the price of Hive approaching 40 cents: I decided to analyze whether or not this is because of the recent Cubdefi launch [and the rise of leo token prices]. When I checked the prices of HIVE and LEO: The prices were literally identical.

I think the Market speaks for itself: Leo is raising the price of Hive tokens. Just like how main alts like ETH and Ltc follow Btc very closely. So the answer [in my opinion] is that the more Leo spikes: The more Hive will go up. But in a way, that's an oversimplification. There are a few different things to analyse here: So let's get to it.

Sure Hive and Leo are the same price: But we could argue on the other side of the coin that this won't last long. For example: a few major Whales could sell off their Hive [because it hasn't hit 40 cents for so long] and those same whales could HODL their leo. This could change everything around.

It's also not a very crazy scenario. I've seen day traders with sell goals under 40 Hive. If Hive hits 50 cents forget about it.

It will be very interesting to see how closely Hive follows Leo. I think generally Hive will follow Leo prices ... with Hive falling back by X percent if that makes sense. So for example, if Leo somehow hits $1K in the future ... I don't think Hive will go over $400 etc.

There are major differences between the Hive and Leo ecosystems. First of all, the total, circulation and reward pools are all different. Secondly, there is no leo DHF. The amount of value held by whales is different. I think the biggest question is: Will more whales dump Hive at a lower price than Leo.

In conclusion, unless you are a day trader or a whale, you probably want to HODL leo and Hive right now. Leo will probably spike more than Hive, although that is a bit difficult to predict. Hive and Leo will probably both spike more [soon] especially considering btc and eth are both up. Crypto in general is bullish at the moment.
