Decentraland is a virtual reality platform creating a decentralized metaverse. Kept secure on the blockchain, each parcel of land in Decentraland is unique with it's own X and Y coordinates. With an expansive map, each new parcel appears adjacent to an already established plot of land for map continuity. Generating a new parcel of land is done through the burning of their ERC20 token, MANA.

Owning a plot on the platform allows you to create and display any content you choose. Decentraland hopes the community aspect of social media thrives in it's metaverse, but instead of social groups, users will meet in neighborhoods that share interests. This element will create high traffic neighborhoods that will generate more content interactions for nearby landowners. 

On 9/19/2017, MANA was priced at $0.02272 USD. It reached it's all time high on 11/25/2021 with a price of $5.90 USD. It has decreased with the market, resting at $1.04 USD.
