Weekly Development Updates for D.Buzz - Today: DDS is live on testing, Automatic Delegation Script (Almost)

Welcome to Tuesday.

Today, we are delighted to announce that our custom Decentralized Database (The D.Buzz DDS) solution has been ported to the live testing server at Next.D.Buzz. It is now live on Next.D.Buzz!

When you refresh Next.D.Buzz, you will see v3.29.0-dev. Besides the number change on the version, you will not see any difference. However, much like the ocean, below the surface, things have changed a lot!

When you log in onto the Next.D.Buzz frontend, the system will automatically add you to our decentralized database and create an instance for you, thenthan sync everything from your settings, including the theme, and selections from the settings page. These options will then sync across all your devices! That is exciting, as if you like and enabled dark mode, your phone and laptop will have the same setting!

So, everything will be happening behind the scenes for today's update, but eventually, we will start rolling out new updates that will make use of this powerful solution on storing data.

In upcoming updates, we will add more features to the settings page, and other frontend features that will need to make use of data storage for users.

As of now, only the theme and personal settings will be synced among devices.

Again, the important takeaway today is that from this update, we can store custom user data on a decentralized database on IPFS! WAHOooooo!

Automatic Delegation Script (85% done)

We had a script like this in the past, but due to a server issue, we lost it. :( However, we have almost completed the process of redesigning it - faster, stronger, better!

The script would be triggered once an account has been created with D.Buzz as a referrer. Our script will automatically delegate Hive Power (HP) and will be written on the Hive blockchain using custom_json.

The referred accounts will have this HP delegation for 1 month. After the user has the delegation for a month, the script will automatically remove the delegation of HP. We will add extra features to this script as well to fine tune it in the future.
