The Ghost cryptocurrency was launched by John McAfee, a highly controversial British programmer. McAfee was also the author of the well-known antivirus and had alcohol and drug problems in his life. Furthermore, in 2012 he was suspected of the murder of a neighbor (Gregory Faull shot dead). In 2015 he also ran for president of the USA.
Returning to Ghost, this cryptocurrency uses a PoS (Proof of Stake) consensus system like the future Ethereum and its main feature is that of wanting to provide maximum privacy to its users (a bit like Monero and ZCash).
Privacy is guaranteed by Stealth addresses: each transaction generates new keys randomly.
It will be possible to hide the sender and the total sent.
Another expected function is to introduce aliases to which stealth addresses are connected to simplify transactions and take advantage of a privileged channel. This type of transaction is expected to cost 5 Ghosts fees.
However, it seems that almost 90% of the white paper was copied from PIVX (born from a fork of Dash). In addition to PIVX, this project is very similar to Monero, with the difference that Monero uses Proof Of Work (like Bitcoin). There is always talk of an encrypted blockchain. On-chain transactions will be processed in less than 120 seconds and the token is already exchangeable on Uniswap (therefore connected to the DeFi world).
A dedicated wallet has also been created, the Ghost Wallet, which is currently in the testing phase.
An interesting aspect of this blockchain is that of being able to block your own funds but not to put them in staking, in reality we speak of Cold-staking (the funds are delegated to a fund and only the fund can do staking).
This operation is carried out through "Cold Staking Node" by entering the public key.
As for staking, it does not require a minimum amount of tokens and by doing so you immediately begin to receive the fees generated by this blockchain.
To become a Ghost Veteran, however, you must stake at least 20,000 Ghosts.
The supply today is approximately 13.5 million Ghost cryptocurrencies in circulation and a maximum of 55 million for the total supply.
There is also a market: Particl (allows you to buy and sell products within the network).
