Today I want to explain to you how messages are exchanged on the Deep Web markets. It should be emphasized that the transaction is made more "reliable" by the escrow (it is a trusted person in the market who acts as an intermediary between buyer and seller).
However, this is not what I want to talk to you about but that messages are encrypted (🅟🅖🅟).
Public and private keys are used.

1) Public key: it is used to encrypt the message (whoever wants to send an encrypted message to you will use this key)

2) Private key: it is used to decrypt the message (this key is secret ⚠️ and is used to decrypt the message that someone has encrypted using your public key)

Why this? Although it is not possible to trace from the public key to the private key, the private and public key are generated by the same algorithm.

In a nutshell, two recipients exchange their public keys:
✅ X uses Y's public key to send the message to him. Then Y will use his private key to decrypt the message
✅ If Y wants to send a message to X, he will need X's public key (then X will use his private key to decrypt the message)

Using the private key (linked to the public key that encrypted the message) I can decipher the content. As a software you can use for example GPG Suite.

But why is encryption used? If the FBI confiscates the market server, at least the messages are safe (identity of the person, shipping address, goods purchased, etc.). To make the idea even the Monero blockchain is encrypted!
