The popularity and adoption of cryptocurrencies are said to have increased in 2021 more than ever before. While adoption cuts across the industry, a new report from Google Trend has shown which cryptocurrencies have caught the most public attention.
Google Trends, a website that analyzes the popularity of top search queries, has confirmed the increasing search for crypto. For the first time ever, searches on crypto-related topics will feature in the ‘most searched news’ of the year.
According to the list published by Google Trends, “Dogecoin” and “Ethereum Price” were on the list of the top 10 most searched news for 2021.
Dogecoin made the list at number four, while “Ethereum Price” was the 10th most searched news topic in 2021. Afghanistan, which was taken over by the Taliban, was the top trending news for 2021.

Dogecoin and Ethereum Lead the Way
While Dogecoin may not be the biggest gainer in 2021, it has undoubtedly enjoyed unparalleled popularity this year.
From receiving support from the CEO of Tesla, Elon Musk, to getting accepted on multiple platforms, including the likes of American Theater chain, AMC, Dogecoin was constantly in the news.
“Ethereum Price” emerged as the 10th most searched news topic in 2021, thanks to its performance in 2021. Ethereum has reached and surpassed most price predictions set for ETH in 2021.
The year-to-date, Ethereum has gained more than 500%, outperforming the world’s largest crypto, Bitcoin.
