Psalm 122 (NRSV)

1I was glad when they said to me,
"Let us go to the house of the LORD!"
2Our feet are standing
within your gates, O Jerusalem.
3Jerusalem — built as a city
that is bound firmly together.
4To it the tribes go up,
the tribes of the LORD,
as was decreed for Israel,
to give thanks to the name of the LORD.
5For there the thrones for judgment were set up,
the thrones of the house of David.
6Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
"May they prosper who love you.
7Peace be within your walls,
and security within your towers."
8For the sake of my relatives and friends
I will say, "Peace be within you."
9For the sake of the house of the LORD our God,
I will seek your good.

"Peace be with you." "Why are you frightened, and why do doubts arise in your hearts?" - Daily Bible Reading: Saturday, April 23, 2022

Luke 24:36-40 (NRSV)

36While they were talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, "Peace be with you." 37They were startled and terrified, and thought that they were seeing a ghost. 38He said to them, "Why are you frightened, and why do doubts arise in your hearts? 39Look at my hands and my feet; see that it is I myself. Touch me and see; for a ghost does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have." 40And when he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet.

Psalm 150 (NRSV)

1Praise the LORD!
Praise God in his sanctuary;
praise him in his mighty firmament!
2Praise him for his mighty deeds;
praise him according to his surpassing greatness!
3Praise him with trumpet sound;
praise him with lute and harp!
4Praise him with tambourine and dance;
praise him with strings and pipe!
5Praise him with clanging cymbals;
praise him with loud clashing cymbals!
6Let everything that breathes praise the LORD!
Praise the LORD!
