"My Biggest Losses have been because of this Lot Sizing Crap."

By CubanCrypt | CubanCrypt | 7 hours ago

Trading with small accounts on MetaTrader is like playing with your hands tied.

Introduction.

For years, I've heard traders with small accounts say the same thing:
"The entry was good, the strategy was solid, but the lot sizing screwed me over."
And they're right.
It's not that the market was against them. It's not that the trade was bad. It's that the platform didn't let them execute it optimally.
This isn't a technical problem. It's a design problem. And it affects thousands of traders who operate with accounts of $100, $200, $500.

The Problem: Lot Sizing.

On platforms like MetaTrader or CTrader, the minimum unit for trading is the lot.
0.01 in standard accounts.
For a $100 account, that 0.01 already represents a fairly high risk per trade. A normal market movement will wipe you out.

And you can't risk less. You can't say, "I only want to risk $5 on this trade."
The system doesn't allow it.
So you enter an optimal zone, with a clear strategy, and you still lose. Not because the trade was bad, but because the tool didn't give you any room to maneuver.

The Contrast: Risk in Dollars.

At Bitunix (and others exchange), with the cost-risk tool integrated into TradingView, the approach changes completely.

• You don't trade by lots. You trade by risk in dollars.
• You decide: "On this trade, I only allow myself to lose $5."
• The system automatically calculates the position size and leverage.

The result: you can execute the same trade with controlled risk.

The Conclusion I Always Hear.

"I've had trades that were technically perfect, and I still lost. Not because the market was against me, but because the minimum lot size forced me to risk more than my account could handle. That's not trading. It's a trap."

I've heard this phrase dozens of times. From different traders. In different countries. With different strategies.

We all come to the same conclusion: the minimum lot size is designed for large accounts, not for the retail trader.

It's not that MetaTrader is "bad." It's that it's designed for large accounts, not for the trader starting with little capital.

The problem isn't leverage.

The problem is not being able to control risk in dollars.

If you trade with small accounts, you need a tool that allows you to manage real risk, not lot size.

(This is one of the reasons why I prefer using Bitunix)

"The best investment in the world is useless if the tool doesn't let you manage the risk."
