Keira Knightley seems to be entering her crime/thriller/mystery era and I am here for it. Since 2023, she has starred in 3 different crime thriller type shows/movies. Black Doves is a Netflix Spy Thriller and when I watched the trailer, I went into it with a sense of, ok, this will be good. Not great, but good. After watching the entire series, this likely is the best Netflix show that was released in 2024. The acting, the script, the emotion that is garnered in certain scenes is done in such a great way that it immerses you into the action and the storyline.

Ben Whishaw stars alongside Knightley and his performance is phenomenal. He should have been at least nominated for his performance in this show. I know that he won a Gotham Award for this role, but I feel like his performance should have garnered a bit more recognition. 

Joe Barton is the creator of this series and his previous work includes TV shows such as Humans, The Lazarus Project and the Halle Berry/Mark Wahlberg movie The Union. He's also involved with the new Cloverfield universe movie and the new Bourne universe movie and seeing how he was able to create such a masterpiece in Black Doves, I will definitely be checking out his other works, both past works and future works. This series has been renewed for a 2nd season but there is no release date for season 2. So, with that said, I would add this to your watchlist on Netflix and plan to binge this during 2026 because this is 100% worth the watch!
