Are you familiar with Circles? 

It is a Berlin-based initiative for decentralized and cryptocurrency-based basic income. 

In my view, Circles shows that it could be possible in the future with more humans having and using decentralised welfare instead of going to and depending on a government. 

Here are some recent news about the Circles: 

Vitalik Buterin and Circles Entropy: Following Worldcoin's launch, debates arose regarding privacy and the ethics of retina scanning. Vitalik Buterin discussed Circles concerning biometrics, favoring social graph proof of personhood models. However, these models risk public exposure to one's social graph. Circles Coop emphasizes user privacy in their digital trust and money network and plans to introduce Circles Entropy for enhanced privacy. Basic Income Earth Network Congress 2023: Circles Coop will attend the BIEN Congress in South Korea, focusing on "Basic Income in Reality." Collaboratively, they will present a paper with Maricá and Gyeonggi researchers, comparing local government-issued basic income currencies to Circles. They will also discuss the success of the Berlin Pilot program.

Circles Coop's Global Vision: With the Berlin Pilot, Circles Coop aims to make its UBI approach global. They offer their global community technical support, materials, and online assemblies. They've launched their German website, with Chinese, French, Turkish, and Spanish translations coming soon, ensuring accessibility for diverse users.
