According to the report posted in the New York Post on Saturday ( Aug. 17), Mastercard announced it is in the midst of planning its own cryptocurrency team. Mastercard Senior Vice President Seth Eisen said Mastercard is always on the lookout to create new value.
"Looking at blockchains and cryptocurrencies is part of these activities," he told the NYP.
So, it is official that after Facebook ( with its coming coin Libra), more big companies are interested in cryptocurrencies, and Mastercard is considered as one of the biggest companies in the financial world. There is some news telling that Paypal is also planning to hire a crypto team as well.
This is going to help even more the crypto community, because when big companies start to involve with blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies, it is expected that their communities will follow them and start dealing and trading, investing and holding these currencies. This is going to increase the volume of trading of cryptocurrencies, and the prices will rise as well most likely.
