eToro is halting all crypto trading and forcing the liquidation or transfer of crypto currency held in accounts in the Netherlands by the 23rd of January.

The surprise move apparently follows the company's failure to complete it's registration with De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) as a crypto currency service provider. 

Users of the service must move or sell the cryptocurrency in their account before 11:00 pm CET on January 23, 2021.

With the application for registration reportedly still in progress it is possible that the service will restart, but clearly that will be at a cost of significant goodwill.
