Well, it is a yes and no answer at the same time. I have been there for a month and I know the struggle for your post to be viewed by others.
So, if you just wanna be part of a certain community. You just don’t care about getting followers and having many views on your post. Then, it is going to be great. Because, the community is very interactive from what I have seen.
But, if you are someone who wants to get followers and write posts, replies and submit your vote on posts. In this case, you would need to invest a bit. The reason behind saying this is that Hive has something called Resource-Credits (RCs).
In order for us to explain RCs we need to explain Hive Power (HP) first. Well, HP is something like your power to add in this community. Since, posting, voting and other stuff adds a weight on the network. Then, the network requires you to do something like staking your Hive.
Once you have enough HP to do a certain activity you will start dealing with RCs. So, they are just like Gas. When you consume all the gas you have than you need to wait sometime without any activity until it generates back. Which lead me back to my previous statement that it is difficult for newbies to go to Hive. So, this is what I was referring to earlier. It is going to be difficult for you to start at Hive without staking on the Hive network.
