What is Walken Runner?
Walken Runner is the first hyper-casual game in the Walken ecosystem. If you have played other runner games, this one is very similar, however you actually get paid for playing Walken Runner which makes it both fun and enjoyable to play. Even though this is related to Walken, you can play Walken Runner for free and you don’t need a level 6 CAT to earn. This is great for people that want to level up their CAT’s quicker in Walken.

To sign up to Walken Runner, all you need to do is install the game from the play store or apple store and then sign in with the same email you used when you first signed up to Walken.
How to Play?
When you load up Walken Runner, if you have connected your Walken account correctly, your CAT from Walken will appear on the main screen. To start the game, just tap anywhere on the screen and your CAT will start to run. The idea is to pass through all of the green gates, collect as many crystals as you can and try to avoid all the obstacles as this will deduct crystals from your balance. At the end of the course if you have passed through enough green gates, you will be able to smash down the three walls and defeat the boss.
After you have defeated the boss, you earn 1 ticket, depending on your win streak you can earn up to 3 tickets every game you win. You also have the chance to increase your collected crystals by up to 5 times by simply clicking and watching a short ad. So what do the tickets actually do?
Chests
On the main screen, you can see a box in the top right called “Chest”. When you earn 10 tickets, the chest will then appear in your chest slot at the bottom of the screen, you can then open it and win some valuable resources. This will include WLKN, Gems, crystals and Mysberries. All the earnings are paid into your account, WLKN is paid straight into your pending balance and can be pushed to your main wallet depending on your CAT level and minimum balance.
There are 3 different types of chests, basic, silver and golden. They are randomly dropped in the box so it’s really just luck which chest will be spawned. You can see here (see pic) what you can potentially earn from the 3 chests.
Each chest takes a certain cool down time before you can open it, basic takes 3 hours, silver is 8 hours and the golden chest is 24 hours. You can skip this cool down period by paying Mysberries, I don’t recommend doing this as Mysberries is a useful resource which i’ve explained in my Walken Tutorial. Please note that you can only hold 4 chests at any one time, so it is best to open the chests as soon as you earn them.
Ultimate Chest
Walken Runner has recently added a new chest, as a reward for defeating 500 bosses, you will receive an Ultimate Chest. The rewards are very good with earnings up to 1000 WLKN, that is worth $26 at the time of making this article. I haven’t reached 500 bosses yet but I am working my way towards this.

Runs
Each run uses 1 energy and you can only hold a MAX of 5 energy at one time, 1 energy refills every 30 minutes. It is possible to refill your energy for 50 Mysberries and this can be done 5 times every 6 hours.
How to Level Up
After each game you will have collected some crystals, you can see the balance of your crystals at the top. In this box (see pic), it tells you how many crystals it costs to level up.
To level up, click here and this will increase your level, attack and health. If you want to level up for free, you have the option to watch a quick ad. Levelling up simply means you can beat more bosses and win more rewards.
Prize Draw
Not only do you get paid to play a game, you also have the chance to win up to $1k. Every week there is a prize draw, all you have to do to enter is watch a minimum of 40 ads and you will be entered into the draw. You can see (see pic) that 1 winner will receive $1k, 5 winners will receive $500 and 100 winners will receive $15. Let me know in the comments section if you have ever won from the prize draw.

Overall, this is quite a fun game to play and the rewards are pretty good, especially when you start working towards opening the Ultimate Chest.
