Have you already played in several Tap-to-Earn projects, but still not been able to earn properly? I had a similar situation. My winnings didn't exceed $30. Hamster Combat $7,

Dogs $20 and so on. Then I wondered why the big airdrops were missing, and deduced certain criteria by which you should look for gem tap-to-earn projects.

In this article, I'm going to share these criteria for finding the best tap-to-earn apps that pay well, as well as talk about the projects I'm currently farming.

Why Tap-to-Earn apps don't make money? The main problems

The concept of tap2earn attracted people with its simplicity and supposedly passive income, but in reality you spend a lot of time tapping and pumping accounts and end up with pennies that never make up for your time lost. Why does this happen?

The main problems why most people fail to make money from tap-to-earn projects can be summarized in a few points:

  • High competition. If there are too many people in a tap-to-earn application, the project's airdrop budget will be spread over hundreds of thousands of users, and the more users there are, the fewer coins each user will receive.
  • Non-transparent airdrop terms. Often projects can change the date of the airdrop or the conditions for obtaining coins just before the airdrop. There are also various tricks used by unscrupulous projects: if there are too many users, some people can be shaved off and considered bots. And if a team wants to take some of the airdrop for themselves, they can simply cut off the rest of the participants who have been playing hard every day.
  • Low payouts. If the project has only set aside a small portion of the coins for the airdrop in tokenomics, it is logical that you should not expect much from such an airdrop.

All these problems lead to user frustration and a gradual loss of interest in tap-to-earn applications.

How to find the best tap-to-earn app? Key selection criteria

However, if people leave projects with tap-to-earn mechanics, the airdrops given away by the projects will end up being distributed among fewer participants, which means you can make a good amount of money from it. You just have to work out exactly how to select such projects. I've scoured the market and compiled a list of the most important criteria to look for in gem projects. Among them:

  • Small number of users. We immediately exclude projects with tens of millions of users. It is likely to repeat the Hamster Kombat story, and in the end the majority of participants will be unhappy with the drop.
  • Transparency of the drop conditions. It is important to choose projects that know in advance the size of the airdrop (look in tokenomics % of total coins to be distributed during the airdrop), the approximate date of the airdrop and generally see that the team is open about the future of the project.
  • Do not postpone the airdrop date. It's a very bad sign if a project has set an airdrop date, and then starts pushing the date back as it gets closer. We try to avoid such projects. The ideal example is Notcoin and Dogs, where they only gave a few weeks to farm points, and then without moving the drop date, did the drop....

Top 3 Tap-to-Earn projects of 2024 that you can make money from

And these are the projects I'm working on at the moment. They all fall under the criteria of gem projects, so I'm paying a lot of attention to them at the moment.

#1 Release Kraken

Release Kraken is a relatively new project with tap-to-earn mechanics on Solana, which is still in beta but is due to launch next month.

In addition to the game, the project has an entire ecosystem that includes many different projects: a full game similar to Doodle Jump that is still in development, a NFT collection (these NFTs are given to those who earn the most points in the game), its own launchpad, and a section dedicated to charity. The project will also have its own token and staking system.

I liked the fact that the game is not made on TON like most other projects, but on Solana, which is more liquid and reliable.

Right now you can fly into the project and farm points, which will later be converted into project tokens. There are 20,000 people in the project's Telegram community, which means the level of competition is low.

Within the project itself, you can farm crystals by clicking on your kraken, complete tasks, invite referrals and compete with other participants in the leaderboard. New features with various boosts and pumping should be added in the future, but as the project is in beta, these features have not yet been implemented.

Also in the future, when developing the ecosystem, you can get extra points for interacting with different products, as was the case with Iceberg.

The project is good in my opinion and time for farming is very limited, so research and have time to farm.

#2 Nuts Farm

Nuts Farm is another new project from Crypton Academia with tap-to-earn mechanics. Coins are farmed in a passive mode where you only have to go in once every 8 hours and collect the coins you have accumulated. There are also quests and a referral system that you can use to increase your score. There are also shop and quest sections, but they are not yet filled with anything.

There are 44,000 people in the project's Telegram community, which means there is little competition.

Here, as well as Release Kraken, there is its own ecosystem to interact with. The project is very trusted and so far has a small number of users. I advise you to do some research and join if you want to.

#3 Iceberg

Iceberg is another tap-to-earn project, but is older than the first two. In addition to the app, the project has its own product. It is a coworking space, similar to Notion, but with crypto attached.

The project is currently in beta and it is possible to farm points, complete tasks and invite friends.

The Telegram channel has 2.3 million subscribers. Since the project is not new, it has already gained a sufficient number of users. However, unlike the same Blum, it is still a sufficient number to take a good piece of airdrop.

Recently, the project introduced a subscription, which increases the number of points by 10 times, but I have not used it yet. However, if I were to join the project from scratch, it might make sense to buy a subscription in order to have time to accumulate enough points.

The project is good, with a real product and reasonable chances of drops.

Is making money with Tap-to-Earn realistic now?

I think the trend for projects with tap-to-earn mechanics is not over yet. Part of the community has just left, making it easier for the rest. It's important not to get involved in projects that are too loose, as was the case with Hamster Kombat, and not to get involved in projects that constantly postpone the release date or change their own terms of release. If you see this, it is better to refuse to participate in such a project at all, even if you have already played enough coins there. Otherwise, your efforts may be wasted.

Also, I would not jump into projects that have been around for several months. Release Kraken and Nuts Farm look much better than Iceberg. The same goes for projects that are not backed by any products other than the game itself. If the trend towards tap-to-earn applications is finally going to dry up, it is the presence of third-party products that will help projects to develop. And projects that only have a game with tap-to-earn mechanics will quickly die.

Tell us in the comments if you've stopped playing tap-to-earn or not. And if you do, what projects are you currently farming? Give me a like and share this link with your friends who might find it useful. Well, that's all for me. I hope everyone is happy and gets only fat drops!
