In one of my previous posts, I already explained "How I Am Preparing Myself For The Next Crypto Bull Market", and can you think of anything more important than preparing yourself for the next bull market?
Well, I can. If your mental health looks worse than your crypto portfolio then it's time to act and take care of your mental health.
Get Your Rush Of Dopamine
I don't know if there is something like a cryptocurrency addiction, but what I can say is that crypto has become pretty much the center of my life over recent years. The ride has always been very emotional and I believe that the most important step toward mastering crypto is understanding the psychology behind it.
During the last bull run, I had been so euphoric like anyone else in crypto. You only had the check the charts on CoinGecko or CoinMarketCap to get your daily dose of dopamine. In a bear market, it is different and you get your neuronal kicks from bad news, and all of the sudden, you start hunting Sam Bankman Fried and a bunch of other scammers in the Bahamas.
I have to admit the tragedy that evolved around the FTX complex was fascinating, especially as you could see everything evolving in real-time on Twitter while the whole story got weirder day by day. Welcome to the bear market, waking up in the middle of the night to check Twitter to see how SBF is doing ...
You can guess, that this is not healthy. At some point at the beginning of December, I was so stressed from crypto that I did not even recognize that I got a flew. This can happen when you are deep with your balls in crypto and absorb crypto twitter like a drug.
Step Back And Take Care
The most important step is to recognize that your mental health is suffering from the current situation and then you can start to act on it accordingly.
You already know that I am not a financial advisor even if I may look smart in my profile pic. Now I also like to mention that I am also not a health advisor but what I would do when I feel that I get too stressed from crypto is the following.
Even though the next rush of dopamine for your brain is just one tiny click away, try to get peace in your mind and let crypto just be crypto until you feel better.
Stop looking at the price charts all the time and turn off all price alerts you have set. Avoid checking the news and most importantly avoid social media. At the beginning of this year, I took a small break from crypto for around ten days and it worked very well.
Especially turning off my Twitter notifications and not checking Twitter at all helped a lot. All the hours on Twitter in November and December were really about damaging my mental health.
Instead of filling my brain with bad crypto news on Twitter, I went out and discovered the nature in my surrounding, places nearby that I have never seen before. I watched my shrimps and fish in my aquarium and got myself some more plants to turn my flat into an urban jungle. I also cooked and ate very well. In the end, also my sleep got better. I can say that I already feel much better after only ten days of a total break.
So after ten days, I went to check my portfolio and when I saw all the green in the crypto charts, I got the next rush of dopamine and it feels like the crypto depression is healed, lmao.

My Final Conclusion
Don't forget that the most important asset that you have is your health and this also includes your mental health. You need to understand your own psychology as well as the psychology behind the crypto markets. I believe that this is by far the most important factor when it comes to mastering crypto.
