Last year, readers and writers on Publish0x were able to earn Loopring Coins. Those of you who are still holding them are lucky because the recent price action was insane but what caused this massive increase in value?

Well, it has not been officially announced yet but the clues are condensing. Loopring is building an NFT marketplace on its Ethereum Layer 2 solution for an established partner: Gamestop.

Such a marketplace build on top of Ethereum via a zkRollup will enable to buy, sell and trade NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain at almost zero costs.

An Ethereum zkRollup protocol is a special kind of Layer 2 solution that allows for highly scalable (high TPS, low fee) exchanges and transactions without compromising Ethereum's security guarantees at all. 

Whoever traded an NFT on a platform like OpenSea knows that such an NFT marketplace using a Layer 2 solution will be a real game-changer.

The root of this collaboration seems to be with Matt Finestone, a previous manager at Loopring who is now head of Blockchain at Gamestop. Also, Loopring itself had stated that it started collaborating with an undisclosed large partner.

Next hint: Gamestop is hiring engineers with Layer 2 experience.

However, Loopring's source code is probably giving the clearest clue on the collaboration between Loopring and Gamestop right now. Loopring's source code already shows the first signs of the GameStop integration.

The hints are already there. The only thing that we are still waiting for is the official announcement of the collaboration between Loopring and GameStop as the excitement grows.
