I don't know if it was just me, but it felt like this Splinterlands season was much harder than the last. For a while now, I've noticed that with the same deck, the rating gain can be higher in one season and lower in another.
However, this season the difference was quite significant. Last season I managed to reach Diamond II, getting both the Gold I to Diamond III League Climb chest and the Diamond III to Diamond II chest, one of which contained a legendary card. This shows that these chests are as important to your progress as the season's Glint, since indirectly these chests have a very significant Glint value.
The problem is that with only a few days left in the season, I was still stuck in Gold I, which could mean losing two entire rewards. Luckily, in the last hours of the season, I managed to reach Diamond III, but still very far from the next rank.
This increase in difficulty from one season to another raises some hypotheses, such as: how did the number of players increase, making leveling up more difficult? Is it that now that the token has started to increase again, players are dedicating more attention to the game? More directly, what we can analyze are the latest statistics regarding the number of transactions and the number of players to try and find some answers.
I'll be much appreaciated if you Votes, Reblogs or give any Tips. Thanks and have good reading! 🍀
Splinterlands is More Challenging this Season!
On the Peakmonster website, you can find some graphs showing the aforementioned statistics. The first analysis will focus on the number of players participating in the Splinterlands ecosystem.
In the account graph, the Peakmonster team tracks the number of different players or accounts that connected to Splinterlands on a specific day. On average, the card game has 3504 players, a number that remained even before the Bitcoin surge, while there were no signs of market improvement.
On one hand, this resilience is good for overcoming crises, and Splinterlands has already managed to survive some bear markets. However, we haven't observed any significant improvement in the graph. In recent days, the number has approached 4000 players, but this is a movement that has repeated itself in the past, perhaps due to the end of the season. This shows that the difficulty didn't come from a large increase in players; perhaps the number has risen in recent days, but it's not uncommon.
The next graph may show some more relevant insights. We know that Splinterlands has an average of 49,598 daily transactions, with some days having a much lower number and others a much higher number.
In the Transactions graph, we can observe a very different movement in the chart, precisely in the period of the last few days, which doesn't seem to have happened in the same way in the past. It can be observed that recently there is an upward trend in the graph.
This tells us that players are more active in the game, but we don't have information on where these transactions are located. Why is the total number of matches so close to the average, without any major changes? This player activity is happening somewhere else, but where?
