A brand-new event is coming to the farming game Sunflower Land. Called "Crop Week," it will run for a full week from July 20th to July 27th. Since the event window is limited, it is a good idea to get up to speed on the details and prepare in advance.
The upcoming Crop Week event in Sunflower Land centers on a new (temporary) crop called Saltwort, which players can cultivate during the event period. According to information shared on GitHub—though subject to change before the final implementation—Saltwort will be classified as a "medium" crop, taking 12 hours to mature.
The crop's duration and classification are among the details that could still change before the event actually arrives in Sunflower Land. The fact that Saltwort is a medium crop could be problematic; advanced players often have buffs tailored to "advanced" crops, so they might push for a change in the crop's classification. The reason for this dissatisfaction is a specific skill in Sunflower Land that increases the yield of advanced crops while reducing the yield of medium and basic ones.
On the other hand, classifying it as a medium crop could mean that intermediate players handle the actual production, while advanced players—motivated by the rewards—drive the demand by purchasing the crop on the marketplace. This setup could create a more sustainable dynamic, with one group of players generating the supply and another group, interested in the rewards, purchasing the crops. As for the crop's duration, the long 12-hour period required for it to be ready is well above the average for medium crops, raising the question of whether it might actually be an advanced crop. Generally, medium crops take only a few hours at most.
I'll be much appreaciated if you Votes, Reblogs or give any Tips. Thanks and have good reading! 🍀
New Event: CROP WEEK Coming to Sunflower Land
Earlier, I mentioned the importance of knowing all the details and checking out the upcoming tips to prepare well for the event, as there is a wide variety of rewards and uses for the Saltwort crop within the Sunflower Land ecosystem.
According to the information released, there will be a total of 50 Saltwort seeds available in the stock. Furthermore, each of these crops will cost 10 coins, and—if I'm not mistaken—they can be sold for 50 coins. This is the first utility of this crop: coin generation. If each crop yields a profit of 40 coins, then the entire stock will generate at least 2,000 coins for the player. One detail to note is that the skill for increasing coin returns when selling crops to Betty might apply, potentially making the total even higher.
In addition to coins, players can choose to use the new crops to prepare a new recipe at the FirePit called "Saltbit." This recipe requires 10 Saltworts and has a base crafting time of 4 hours—which can be reduced using time modifiers—yielding 2,000 base XP. For those looking to level up, it is worth weighing the production cost against the XP gained and comparing it to high-XP foods like Lemon Cake or Pizza.
Finally, this new crop recently appeared on the marketplace, and it seems the team has already conducted some test trades. As far as we know, VIP players in Sunflower Lands will be able to sell these crops on the marketplace; depending on player demand for the prizes, these crops could fetch a significant amount of Flower tokens.
Regarding the prizes, advanced players will likely be interested, as the rewards are very appealing—though they do rely on luck. The new "Saltbite" recipe counts as one entry into the daily prize draws. Top prizes include 3 Crimstone Hairs on Thursday and 3 Paw Auras on Friday.
