In a surprising move, Tesla announced in 2021 that it would accept Bitcoin as payment for its cars. However, despite the buzz and anticipation of this decision, the reality is that Tesla did not sell any cars using Bitcoin in either 2022 or 2023. This was due to a variety of factors, including concerns about the volatility of Bitcoin's value, regulatory uncertainty around its use as payment, and difficulties with integrating it into Tesla's existing payment system. Despite these challenges, many believe that if the right conditions are met, we could see Tesla accepting Bitcoin payments in the future.
Tesla sold 75% of its bitcoin in 2022 (From 1.5b bought), and didn't sell any in the last quarter. Their Bitcoin position has not changed meaning that they are perceiving it as an asset worth holding. Tesla is one of the big shots that have small percentage of holdings into Bitcoin, as time passes we will eventually see more and more of this sort of things.
