There has been a lot of hype in crypto circles about the new crypto planned by Facebook. I have read some articles on this and while some enthusiasts believe it will have little to no impact due the privacy failures of Facebook in the past and the alleged manipulation of the of the presidential election – I believe this coin will have huge impact. I base this on two fairly basic facts and a third fact that blew me out of the water…
Firstly - numbers matter
According to a google search Facebook had 2.38 billion monthly active users as of the first quarter of 2019 – if a coin is airdropped to each active user and say there is only 10% uptake of the use of the coin – which is fairly stingy estimate - you have 238 million active crypto users – that will potentially start exploring faucets, exchanges and dabble in ICO’s and all things crypto. this will have an immediate effect – demand will go up – and when demand goes up and supply stays the same – prices will go up.
Secondly – the adoption issue
Up to now adoption has been a major issue for Crypto to date – very few people see day to day application for the use of crypto – is all well and good to say you have x amount of crypto – the normal man in the street wants to know – can he buy a loaf of bread with it ? or purchase services with it – up to now the answer has been limited and only readily available online or in certain countries. If Facebook pulls off what its planning you could buy goods and services while on Facebook by clicking on adds using your Libra.

Thirdly – and this blew my mind
While I’m a crypto enthusiast- in my circle of friends family and acquaintances – Ima the only one. I received an email from a close friend the other day advising me to buy Libra – he had no idea it was not available as yet – but already through Facebooks hype caught onto the fact this is a game changer – so this is a clear indication of what’s to come.
