An Unexpected Reception

By LouP77 | NashvilleLou | 29 Apr 2021

As always, remember: Never invest money you can't afford to lose.
Do your own research. Buy my NFTs

Later today, R-Planet will be holding its second land sale. I'm in the Top 1,000 for game activity as of the time the standings were frozen, which means I get a shot at both of the packs they'll be selling.

Hopefully this will be an effective buffer against bots and other unsavory interests trying to ruin the fun. The big NFT release days continue to be plagued with problems, and if this proves to be effective for R-Planet I'd anticipate others would take notice and act accordingly.

The three parcels of land I have now in R-Planet are steadily producing for me, albeit in the form of elements I don't quite yet understand fully.

Something that has really surprised me is the reluctance from people (outside the NFT realm) I thought would be interested in partnering on NFT collabs. The response hasn't been openly hostile, but it has been firm.

And these are people I know personally who I had been hoping to help.

You'd think I was trying to sell them something by the reaction in some cases, even though I was offering 100% of the profits. It was the exact opposite of what I had intended.

I never want to make someone feel obligated, in particular because I despise being put in that position myself. So I'm taking a different approach now and letting people come to me and we'll do it like a proper business deal.

Meanwhile, I'm very grateful that some of you have purchased my NFTs in the nashvillelou collection. Though, in some ways, I derive more happiness from giving away my NFTs than by selling them.

The giveaway I held on Tuesday previewing next month's Bridgestone Arena release was well-received. It was my first NFT drop

2,000 promo NFTs, though I held back the first ten. One per account limit. I thought in 30 days they'd all eventually be claimed.

They were gone in less than 2 1/2 hours. And that was with a quiet launch and minimal build.

One challenge that I have yet to understand is how to gauge the amount of WAX needed to be sent to atomicdropsx to have sufficient RAM for an NFT drop. I hit a snag during the Tuesday giveaway and abruptly rushed 150 WAX there to ensure the drop could continue.

Thankfully, CryptoStache had given a warning in his video on WAX NFT drops that such a problem might occur. So I was ready when it happened.

I ended up buying one regular pack in yesterday's Weezer NFT sale. They went quickly. I recorded my pack open for anyone who might like to see it.

See y'all later today at the R-Planet land sale, then on Draft King tonight for my annual running commentary of night one of the NFL Draft.
