In this world of blockchain and crypto projects there is a great role to play for the community. There is a big difference to the real business world where the distance to the CEO is much bigger. To get people involved in your community, you have to put something in it for them with a givaway, a tipbot, a lottery or bounty program. But when they are there, it can be a boost for your project.
A project where I am involved as a community member is Stratis. In their discord it is possible to ask questions to the CEO when he is online. Of course you have to ask something of importance. This project has a strong community of supporters who help out but also are not afraid to ask critcal questions. Stratis is my inspiration to write this post. I have seen a lot of community engagement there.
I was planning to write this as a little story from my point of view. But there are actually quite some things to sum up who are really true about a good community and what they can do for your project:
- Answering questions from new users in your discord or telegram channel
- Moderate your channels to prevent scams etc
- Like and retweet your twitter posts to reach a bigger audience
- Ask good questions to make you think about your marketing strategy or product
- Post on social media like twitter or facebook about your project
- Write blogs about technical stuff from your project
- Test your wallets or software on different systems
- Create instructions or howto's
The more fun part is when they start to create meme's and other nice stuff, it lights up the conversations. It is even possible they gather on the events your project is participating to suppport or even show up for a drink afterwards. I should recommend every project to put energy into gathering a great community, it will be worth the energy.
I enjoy being part of the Stratis and some other communities. To learn and to have fun or good conversations.
