Monad is set to become the next step in terraforming crypto into tradfi and trad gaming. Why? They've got the culture, funding and tech that the previous generation of "Ethereum killers" just couldn't bring together all at the same time.
Monad's $244 million USD seed round is done. You're not getting exposure to this upcoming behemoth through the $MONAD token directly. You need to break in through the Monad ecosystem. You've got time, as testnet isn't even out yet and mainnet is at least six months away. Use that time to direct your focus on the early projects most likely to have a huge impact. Here's my take.
Monad Nomad
This NFT project is working hard to be the first community NFT project with traction on Monad. There have been other characters like Chog and Molandak free-flowing from Monad core community, but Monad Nomad represents a ground-up community project that has come to the forefront without the direct support of the core Monad team (Purple Frens is another).
The Nomad project is currently building itself around educational and skill building events. They have already partnered with a few up and coming projects on Monad. If it keeps up, the Nomads can solidify themselves as arbiters of truth on Monad — everyone coming after will need to bend the knee for clout. In crypto, clout = money for early adopters. Definitely a project to watch.
MonadPad
The first launchpad on Monad is sure to become an arbiter of truth on the chain. Once the launchpad establishes itself, quality projects will filter through it instead of trying to build on their own. This means early movers on MonadPad will experience early-stage Seedify type benefits — the ability to get in super early on quality shit and make a lot of money. Might want to grab that $MPAD token as soon as you can (the multimillion dollar seed rounds are closed, but there should be a public round fairly soon — keep up with the Twitter.

MonadPad's NFT project Purple Frens already sold out of its initial run (2,000 NFTs @ $500 USD; not bad. So no, NFTs are not dead, at least not on Monad!) The NFT culture is strong here, and Purple Frens is set to become just as culturally relevant as core community NFTs because of the smart money/quality mindshare that took the seed round. You can bet that Purple Frens members will be future Monad founders, all of whom will have a direct connection with the first mover launchpad on the chain.
Breath of Estova
There are two very interesting gaming projects building on Monad, and I believe Breath of Estova will be the more sustainable experience. A 2D MMORPG with those old school Chrono Trigger vibes is just what crypto needs. Honestly, fuck these FPS gamers, bro! Web3 gaming fits with the intellectual indie gamer: The guys that enjoy Fear & Hunger or Blasphemous. I think Monad is home to the first group of game devs that actually get this.
The performance of games is the most difficult type of project to predict, so I can only go off the professionalism of the team until the game is actually playable. So far, the team has done everything right on their socials and said everything right in the Spaces to make me a believer. Good thing here is early adopters get at last six months of testnet playtime before Monad mainnet comes out. Being prominently early here for a beta tester role could make you a ton of money later if the game is actually good.
Kuru
This project is still in stealth, but I've got inside info this DEX will be the official-unofficial DEX of Monad. They've already scored an elusive grant from the core foundation, which is something even MonadPad was not able to do. You only know about Kuru if you're really paying attention, and this will be the token to grab once it becomes available.
Kuru's going to win because it takes full advantage of Monad's reworking of the EVM to provide traders with a DLOB style liquidity that can also function as an AMM. The result: exponentially more efficient liquidity pools for better pricing on trades, which bolsters any system built on top of it. Kuru may be in stealth, but there's a Monad pre-stealth project that I'm keeping under wraps under pain of death. All I can say is this one is an absolute winner that takes full advantage of the EVM rebuild like Kuru. Most importantly, [redacted] has the ability to incorporate and draw fees from every other project on this list into its infrastructure.
Monad has the unique ability to consolidate previously disparate crypto audiences like no chain before it — defi chads and meme lords. This cycle's winners will be the projects that build tech based around this new paradigm. This will become more than obvious once [redacted] does what it does, but you can believe I will set you up first with the projects that do.
